DTF graphics application process

🧵 DTF Heat Press Application Process (Step-by-Step)

Gather Required Equipment & Accessories

You will need:

  1. DTF printed transfer (on PET film)
  2. Heat press machine
  3. T-shirt (cotton, poly, or blend)
  4. Teflon sheet / silicone sheet
  5. Heat-resistant tape (optional)
  6. Weeding tools (tweezers or scissors)

Prepare the Garment

  1. Lay the T-shirt flat on the heat press platen.
  2. Pre-press for 1-3 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
  3. Ensure fabric is smooth and centered.

Position the DTF Transfer

  1. Place the DTF transfer print side down on the garment.
  2. Align artwork exactly where desired.
  3. Secure with heat-resistant tape if needed to prevent movement.

Set Heat Press Parameters

🔥 Heat Press Settings

  1. Temperature: 315°F
  2. Time: 10–12 seconds
  3. Pressure: Medium

Cover and Press

  1. Place a Teflon or silicone sheet over the transfer.
  2. Close the heat press and apply heat using the settings above.
  3. Maintain steady pressure for the full press time.

Peel the Transfer Film

  1. We follow the film manufacturer’s instructions:
  2. Peel cold on the DTF film type.
  3. Peel slowly and evenly.

Final Cure (Recommended)

  1. Re-cover the design with Teflon or parchment paper.
  2. Press again for 3-5 seconds at 315°F with medium pressure.
  3. This improves durability and softens the print feel.

Cool & Inspect

  1. Allow shirt to cool completely.
  2. Inspect for full adhesion and clean edges.
  3. Shirt is now ready to wear or package.
